… introducing SoundPlay …
SoundPlay is an independent online space connecting with people who want to discover and be inspired by stories about sound and music.
The stories and reviews at SoundPlay are completely independent, and unlike many street magazines and music sites, there is no advertorial or cash-for-comment. Our stories attempt to look outside the box and cater for an audience who want to engage with inspiring and thought-provoking material, from both our local and international environments.
The channel aims to cover artists that make an interesting and creative impact on sound and music culture, and to do so in a way that is intelligent, exciting and accessible. We aim to produce well-written stories for those who want more depth in their reading.
Dan Rule will be editing the channel with the assistance of Jon Tjhia, and will be inviting like-minded contributors from across Australia to write features, essays and reviews.
Like most online adventures, the SoundPlay team is working for nothing at the moment. But as audiences grow, we’ll be exploring creative ways of becoming more financially sustainable.
SoundPlay will be updated approximately once a month with new features and reviews.
For now, SoundPlay will only exist in the digital realm. However, as it expands and grows, we’ll be considering publishing occasional print editions and anthologies. So stay tuned.
